The “Special Sports” category encompasses nordic (cross country) and alpine (downhill) skiing. These lifetime sports have a long tradition in Wyoming, and we’re proud to have seen several athletes continue their careers in college, professional sports, and even the Olympics. Because our sports are smaller, we are able to provide opportunities for the beginner to expert athletes.

We have many great coaches who have been coaching in Wyoming for years; a unique aspect of our programs is the fact that the coaches work together to provide the best opportunities for all athletes – regardless of what program they are from or their experience level.

Don’t forget – we have many opportunities to develop professionally (we have great clinic sessions in the summer – including representatives from the US Ski Team), plus we like to recognize our coaches and their efforts. Both head AND assistant coaches can be nominated and selected as coach(es) of the year. See the links on the main WCA website for details.
